🧭 About Caroline
Quiet Rivers and Farmland on Maryland's Eastern Shore
Caroline County is Maryland's most rural Eastern Shore county — no traffic lights on the Bay, no boardwalks, just the slow-moving Choptank River winding past farmland, state parks, and the small county seat of Denton. It's a place for a quieter kind of trip: river cruises, an arboretum built into a state forest, and a stretch of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway that runs straight through it.
