🧭 About Wicomico
Salisbury's Riverwalk, a Free Zoo & the Nation's Oldest Ferry

Wicomico County centers on Salisbury, the commercial hub of Maryland's lower Eastern Shore, where a revitalized downtown riverwalk meets a free zoo and minor league baseball. Just outside the city, the Whitehaven Ferry has carried travelers across the Wicomico River since 1687 — believed to be the oldest continuously operating ferry in the country, and still free to ride today.
